Attention PM CTC Students: You must bring your Chromebooks to the auditorium balcony
tomorrow!

Attention students: There will be a meeting today after school in the Field House Lobby for
any girls interested in playing softball in the spring.

Attention students: Please join Mr. Fox in Room B313 on Friday after 8 th period for an
informational meeting about the Patriotic Student Alliance, as well as Youth and Government.
The meeting will last ten minutes.

There will be an open gym for boys basketball for 9 th graders that are not playing a fall sport
on Thursday, September 8 th from 6:30-8:15 at the junior high fieldhouse.

Attention Freshmen: Do you have an 85% or higher GPA? Do you have a 90% or higher attendance record?
Do you have a strong work ethic and positive school behavior? Will you be one of the first in your family to
attend college? If so, SOAR may be for you! The SOAR program will be accepting applications for 9th-grade
students only. ONLY 10 students will be selected for the program. If you are selected, you will be provided a
mentor to help guide you through high school and help you achieve your goal of post-secondary education. If
you stay in the program and fulfill all of the requirements, you will also be rewarded with up to $7500 of
financial assistance. Please stop in B120 to pick up an application and for more information.

Attention students: Do you like helping others? Are you interested in a career in human services,
education, healthcare or hospitality? If so, then FCCLA, Family, Career, and Community Leaders of
America, may be the club for you. We will be holding our first meeting on Monday, September 12 in
room A335 after school. All students are welcome. See Mrs. Trumpbour in A335 if you have any
questions.

Attention Astronomy Club: Our first meeting of the year will be held today from
2:50-3:50 PM in the Neil Armstrong Planetarium. We will have a special guest in Fort
Roberdeau Director Glenn Nelson, who will share with students everything there is to know
about the return of Haunted Fort Roberdeau 2022! Packets to officially join the club will be
available. Hope to see you there!

Attention Juniors: The PSAT will be held on Wednesday, October 12 th , 2022. The PSAT
measures critical reading, math and writing skills and is an important test for any junior
considering college in the future. Regular registration begins September 6 th and ends
September 14 th . The cost is $20. Late registration will be accepted until October 8 th and will
cost an additional $5. The first 100 students to register will eligible to test. Register at Total
Registration. More information is in an email to parents from Mr. Neely. Any questions?

Hi AAHS! Glad to see your PAWS on display around school and see you committed to being
positive this school year. Tomorrow show your Mountain Lion Pride by wearing Camo with
the Mt. Lion Maniacs as the football team play and our marching band, silks, majorettes,
Lioneers and Cheerleaders perform for another fantastic night at Mansion Park showing our
Mountain Lion Pride.

Attention Seniors: It’s time for area colleges to start visiting our high school to highlight their
universities and what they have to offer. Next week is going to be a busy week with
representatives from the following colleges setting up tables in the cafeteria. On Wednesday,
September 14 th , a representative from Hamline University will be here; Thursday, September
15 th , will be St. Francis College; and Friday, September 16 th , will be a representative from
Gannon University. Please stop by the table near the cafeterias for more information from
these colleges.

Hey AAHS!! Do you need a snack during the day? Thirsty for a drink? Well have no fear the
Student Store is here! The New Student Store hours are between 7:20 and 7:40, plus during
1 st , 2 nd , 7 th and 8 th periods! The store is tucked away in a cozy corner next to the Black Box
Theater in the B building. Come fill up to help you get through the amazing days we have here
at AAHS!!

Attention Students: Games Club and Computer Club will have their first meeting of the year
in room B109, on Friday, September 9 th , after school until 4:30 PM. If you are interested,
please join the Google Classroom with code te6bxlz or just show up!

Attention Juniors: If you are interested in running for the position of junior class officer,
please stop in and see Mrs. Dumm in B120 for an application and more information as soon as
possible. Applications are due by Friday, September 9th.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: If you are interested in being a member of the Junior/Senior
Executive Committee, please stop in and see Mrs. Dumm in B120 for an application. The
executive committee will help make decisions for various junior/senior events, including, but
not limited to, class song, colors, motto, and the prom theme. If you have already expressed
interest in your officer application last year, you do not need to complete a new one. All are
welcome to apply! Applications are due by Friday, September 9th.

Attention Juniors and Seniors – It is time to start fundraising again for the Class of 2023 and
Class of 2024. Marianna Hoagie Orders forms are located in Mrs. Dumm’s Room B120. All
funds are to benefit your specific class activities. Order forms and money are due by
Wednesday, October 5th. We are encouraging the members of the junior class to help with this
fundraiser – every little bit helps! Both juniors and seniors have the ability to earn free prom
tickets!!

AAHS Juniors & Seniors taking the S.A.T. this Fall
It is Week #3 on Mr. Spayd’s S.A.T. Math Google Classroom Site.
The Math Practice Quiz and Answer Key are downloaded and
waiting to be completed. Each week important
information about the S.A.T. and the College Board will be available.
Anyone interested in improving their SAT score is encouraged to join.
Presently there are over 50 AAHS Students signed-up & working,
so please join them using the following access code:

If you are planning to take the October 1st S.A.T., you have until September 20th to register
