Senior night. The last home game was Oct. 14. This was also senior night. This is a night where seniors are recognized.

The football season is almost over, along with senior’s high school careers.

Seniors Nick Hogan and Manuel Miller are members of the football team who will no longer be a part of the high school team.

“I’ve played since fourth grade flag football when it started, then tackle fifth and sixth and all the way throughout,” Hogan said.

Miller has played football even longer than Hogan.

“I have been playing football since I was in second or third grade, I think,” Miller said.

After coaching these players for four years, head football coach Vince Nedimyer has some advice for his previous players. Nedimyer has coached Hogan and Miller for their whole high school career.

“Continue to work hard, always have a great attitude and give great effort in whatever you do in life,” Nedimyer said.

Hogan has grown close to the team after playing for four years.

“It is a family. We are all brothers, and the connections that you make with these guys are amazing. Unfortunately having to leave this team is going to suck,” Hogans said.

Miller is also upset about having to leave a team that has become like a second family.

“I love high school, I love the team, I love everything about it. It sucks having to leave,” Miller said.

Both boys are interested in playing football in college.

“If the opportunity rises, I would like to play in college. I looked at Cal U and a lot of Pittsburgh area schools. I really like the area up there,” Hogan said.

Miller has not yet made up his mind about where he will attend college. All he knows is that he definitely wants to play.

“I do want to play in college, but I don’t have a college yet. I haven’t decided which college I want to go to,” Miller said.

When it comes to playing football after college is over, that is something that could be a possibility for Miller.

“It all depends on how my college career goes,” Miller said.

Both of the boys had advice for the younger football players.

“You just have to keep going. It gets hard. There are long days, but you just have to keep fighting. When you win, there is no better feeling in the world. Everything’s better when you win. Just keep working and keep going,” Hogan said.

Miller had  similar advice but with a few differences.

“In the off season, you have to work hard. You have to love the game and you have to play for your teammates,” Miller said.
