Madison Cowfer
Q: How did your passion for journalism begin?
A: When I was in eighth grade, I really enjoyed writing and my English teacher Mr. O’Donnell recommended me to the Livewire.
Q: Is there something valuable you’ve learned from journalism that you might not have learned anywhere else?
A: I think the interviewing aspect will help me next year to become a nurse and communicate better with talking to patients asking questions.
Q: Where were you when you began journalism compared to where you are now? What has changed about you the most?
A: I’m not as uncomfortable with interviewing people, and I know a lot more AP style. I don’t know it all, but I think I can write slightly better.
Q: Were there moments where you felt like giving up your position because you felt like you couldn’t handle it?
A: Yes. Sometimes it gets to be a lot of writing stories. When people aren’t getting back to you, it all gets to be a lot.
Q: What are the relationships like that you’ve formed throughout the years?
A: I’ve been with the seniors for the past four years. We started as a nine person class and now there are just four of us.
Q: What are your plans for after high school?
A: I plan to attend Mount Aloysius for their three and a half year nursing program.
