In eighth grade, Nevaeh Long started her path in the yearbook staff. She’s now in her freshman year still conquering challenges thrown at her during the yearbook.

As a freshman, Long began her first year of yearbook at the high school level.

“I started last year in the junior high and then I was offered the opportunity to skip intro to pub and go straight into yearbook,” Long said.

Long thinks the high school yearbook is easier than the junior high yearbook.

“It is much more productive, and it’s easier to get more involved and is more organized,” Long said.

Long describes the perfect yearbook staff member in her opinion.

“Someone who is well rounded in caption writing, design, photography and everything with the basics, but also someone that knows how to interview, someone that can talk well, outgoing people,” Long said.

Long thinks she’ll continue being in the yearbook staff the rest of high school.

“I think I’ll definitely look more into it. I’ll learn more things. I’ll definitely get better at it. I’m hoping I’ll start taking more pictures. That’s what I’d like to do more of,” Long said.
