Announcements for 12/13/23

Hey AAHS!  Thursday night our girls’ basketball team plays AT Hollidaysburg – the theme has been changed to Maroon Out.  So deck yourselves out in Maroon and go support the girls’ team as they take on Hollidaysburg! AND, save your PJs for school on Friday when the Maniacs sponsor a PJs theme for FUNKY FRIDAY – at no cost!

Attention Friends of Rachel:  Our next meeting will be held on Friday, December 15th during period 4 in the open cafeteria.  Passes can be picked up all week in the library.  To attend, passes must be signed by your 4th period teacher.

Attention FLC members:  There will be a brief meeting in A219 on Thursday, December 14th after school from approximately 2:55 to 3:15 PM.  We will be discussing upcoming FLC events and opportunities.  Hope to see you there!  Please see Madame Skomra with any questions.

Attention Astronomy Club and FLC Members:  Permission slips for next Tuesday’s holiday party evening trivia night and field trip are still available outside of the Planetarium.  The cost for the trip is $10.00, but you will receive $5.00 back the night of the trip if you bring a dish for the club’s holiday bakeoff challenge. You must turn in the $10.00 to Mr. Krug at the same time as your permission slip.  The turn in deadline is next Monday.  We rented 2 school buses to go through Lights on the Lake, so let’s fill them both!

Students:  You must have your school ID with you to enter each Girls’ and Boys’ home basketball game this season.  Each student’s ID will be scanned in the Field House vestibule.  Students without their IDs will not be permitted into the Field House and will be asked to leave – NO EXCEPTIONS.  Students who are on school probation or have 5 or more demerits are not permitted to enter.  This entry policy is for AASD students in grades 6-12.

Attention students:  If your family could use some help with Christmas dinner, there will be a food giveaway sponsored by Jesi’s Christmas, A Circle of Giving.  This giveaway is this Friday, December 15th from 4 PM – 6 PM in the Jaffa Mosque Parking Lot, while supplies last.  Each family will receive a ham or turkey, potatoes, stuffing and gravy.
