ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10, 2024

Hey AAHS! Tonight our gymnastics team takes on Ridgeway at 6:00 – come out to
the field house to support our gymnasts! Thursday our wrestlers are at home against
Indiana at 7:00. Our grapplers need YOU in the stands getting loud! Get your GRAY
OUT GROUTFIT outfit ready for this FRIDAY’S Funky Friday theme for school, AND the
boys BB game against rival STATE COLLEGE! Come out and support the team and
show your school spirit at AAHS.

All freshman students should check their yearbook photos and name
spellings this week.  Page proofs are hanging outside room B130.  Any
problems must be reported to Mrs. Vanish before the end of the day
Wednesday.

Seniors: I need you to sell Marianna’s Hoagies and Pizzas to help raise money for
your AfterGlo. All Totals Order Forms and Monies are due Friday, January 19 th . The
food will be delivered Wednesday, January 24 th . If you sell $250, you will earn 1 free
AfterGlo ticket. If you sell $400, you will earn 2 free AfterGlo tickets. The order forms
have been sent to your school email. If you want a hard copy, please stop by Room
A334 to pick up the order form and totals order form.

Attention Seniors: The Altoona Housing Authority is offering several scholarship
opportunities for students who reside in Public Housing or Section 8 Housing for at
least the last 12 months. More information as well as applications can be found in the
literature rack outside of the Guidance Office. Deadline is March 1 st to apply for these
scholarships.

Attention Seniors: The Brian Morden Foundation has provided AAHS with copies of
the following three scholarship opportunities:
– The Erin Dodson Memorial Scholarship for student athletes who also gave back to
their community through volunteering.
– The Dawn Morden Memorial Scholarship for students entering the teaching
profession, and finally,
– The Brian Morden Memorial Scholarship for students furthering their education in
either the music or technology field.
All three scholarship applications need to be turned in to the Guidance Office no later
than Thursday, March 7 th – no exceptions.
