Fresh beginnings. Ethan Eisenhart and Greg Wenzel rehearse in preparation for the show. Eisenhart will play the titular lead in the spring musical.

On Jan. 11, 2024, the drama club held its first rehearsal for the upcoming spring musical ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.’ Backstage crews were given their assignments and schedules were distributed.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to be a part of something greater than myself,” junior Eli Rosenberry said. “Joseph is just that opportunity.”

Members of the cast stayed to listen to songs from the musical as director Benjamin Cossitor explained his vision for the club’s performance. The show retells the biblical story of Joseph with music from Andrew Lloyd Webber. Regular rehearsals will continue until April.

“It’s not just about the experience of the club,” Rosenberry said. “You meet a lot of great and interesting people, both in the cast and crew.”

The drama club will perform this show on April 4, 5, and 6 in the auditorium. There will also be a senior preview on April 3. Until then, the cast and crew will be learning musical numbers, practicing dance routines, creating set pieces, crafting costumes, and completing several other tasks to prepare.

“I’m excited about the experience I’ll be gaining from dancing and singing for Joseph,” senior Nick Stevenson said. “I’m so happy to begin actively working in this production.”

Jaidyn Palladini, Editor in Chief
Hello, I'm Jaidyn, and I'm a senior at AAHS. This is my third year writing for the Mountain Echo. I am also an Editor in Chief this year! My favorite hobby is twirling, and I also do photography as a side job for family, friends, etc. A fun fact about me is that I work on the Production Team at the Altoona Curve where I take part in photography, videography, and graphics. Other than being on the staff, I am also very involved when it comes to school. I am involved in Majorettes, Chorus, Drama, and Vocal Ensemble. I found a passion for writing towards the end being in junior high and it has gotten me to where I am now. When I get older, I will be majoring in Digital Journalism and Media with a minor in Sports Studies and a certificate in Sports Journalism. I will be attending Penn State University when I graduate high school and I hope to twirl with the Blue Band. I'm looking forward to what this year has to bring to me, and I'm happy to keep you all updated on events going on here! Thanks for checking in! :)
