Curve Classic to begin April 18-20

On Thursday April 18, the Curve Classic will be held at Peoples Natural Gas Field. The event will be held for three days. There are eight teams in the tournament. The teams participating are Altoona, Bishop Guilfoyle, Northern Bedford, Curwensville, Central, Northern Cambria, Hollidaysburg and Tyrone. Altoona will play at 12:30 p.m. on April 18, day one of the tournament.

“I hope as a team we can go out there and have fun like we always do,” sophomore Tanner Stroup said. “Everyone on the team knows what it takes to win games consistently, and to have a chance to do it at the best stadium around is truly a blessing. There’s nothing better than being able to play with your friends in your hometown, in front of all the fans that show up to every game. I am just as eager to go for another championship at the Curve this year. I believe we have a good chance at achieving that goal but most importantly growing as a team, and getting better each game.”

Students can pick up a slip to get dismissed from school at 12 p.m. Slips can be picked up in Mr. Shultzs’ office, Mr. Nedimyers’ office and outside Mrs. Dumms room. Slips must be turned in not later than Wed. April 15. All games in the tournament are open to the public and free entry.

Eli Peteuil, Reporter
Hello! I'm Eli Peteuil, I'm a junior at the AAHS, and I'm a reporter for the Mountain Echo staff. I enjoy hanging out with friends and playing video games. I’ve always enjoyed creative writing, but it wasn't until I joined the Mountain Echo intro to pub class that I realized I also enjoyed reporting and story writing. I’ve done a few stories on our Mountain Echo website as a guest reporter, but this is my first year actually being on the news writing team. I'm looking forward to this task!
