Q: What got you interested in music?
A: “Music really just appealed to my mind; I thought it was great to be able to just play music, to be able to listen to music. And I really think it’s a way that you can find yourself; you find your soul. It’s one of those really pleasurable things.”
Q: What instrument do you play? What made you choose that?
A: “The French Horn and well, honestly, my teacher just chose for me, but I do like it because it’s good. It’s a good sound.”
Q: What got you interested in doing the yearbook?
A: “I was just nominated by the current yearbook editor in chief. I thought it’s a good opportunity. I’ll take it.”
Q: You said that you like sci-fi and futuristic design, does that come out with you being in the yearbook team? Does that come out in any way with any designs you had to do?
A: “Interesting shapes that kind of give off that futuristic feel that those fonts, space and that kind of stuff.”
Q: I’ve heard you rank high in your class. Is there any way that the amount of groups and clubs that you’re in make it hard to keep that high rank?
A: “Some of the clubs I’m in definitely do demand a lot of attention and a lot of work, but at the same time, they allow me to interact with friends more. And I feel like that’s a good counterbalance because being able to interact with friends more balances it, so you’re happy.”
Q: Which one turns out to be the most challenging then to keep up with your studies?
A: “I would say, probably band the most, because that’s the stuff I have to do the most things for. All these practices. But that’s also very fall loaded. After that, it would probably be the orchestra; it changes.”
Q: What made you want to join so many different organizations?
A: “Just being able to meet new people, trying new things. And also, a lot of those are my passions. For example, Scholastic Scrimmage, that’s one of my passions. It also expands your social web.”
Q: How does your family encourage you with these different organizations that you’re in?
A: “They’re always there for me. They’re just there to provide for me. Basically, it helped me shape my character into one that might be suitable for these clubs.”
Q: A lot of the clubs that you listed, they go to a lot of places, a bunch of different trips, such as Foreign Language Club. Does that make scheduling hard for you? And do you enjoy the trips?
A: “I enjoy the trips. But there’s certainly sometimes we’re in conflict, but that’s okay. We can always work around those and always make compromises. And that’s also a nice, valuable life skill that’s also being developed in the process.”
Q: Which group is your favorite to be a part of?
A: “All of them actually. I love all of them equally because they’re all unique in their own way.”
