The Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Club (PJAS) will travel to Penn State University to compete in the State competition on May 19-21, 2026. The competitors got there by conducting research and qualifying in the regional competition.
“We have a lot of strong members in the club that are also involved in research, and I think that a lot of us are going to be able to make it to States if we meet all the requirements for the rubric at regionals,” senior PJAS Club president Melissa Krainer said.
PJAS competitors did research on one of the topics from this list, Behavioral Phycology, Biology, Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Space, Ecology, Engineering, Mathematics, Microbiology and Physics. They conducted research and did experience on their topic, and then created a ten minute presentation about the topic, which they will present at the competition.
