On March 6, Harry Styles released his newest album, “Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally.” This album marks his fourth album release. Prior to the album release, he released a single, “Aperture”.
This album made me a Harry Styles fan. Here is my ranking of all of the songs.
Aperture 5/10
Favorite lyric – “We belong together, It finally appears it’s only love”
Overall I liked this song. It is a good song with good lyrics, but I felt as if the beat overpowered the lyrical aspect. I think it has potential to perform well live. I think it was the best choice to release as a single prior to the rest.
American Girls 7/10
Favorite lyric – “Right at home with perfect timing, A face that knows her perfect lighting”
This is one of my favorite songs on the album. I love the vibe it gives. It reminds me of summer in the perfect way due to the up beat. I enjoy the lyrics. I think this song is a big hit and I feel as if it is one of the more popular songs on this album.
Ready, Steady, Go! 7.5/10
Favorite lyric – “But you call Leon, You call it only in my head, ‘Cause you’ve got enough, While we do too much”
I love this song. It is not in my top five, but it is one of my most listened to. I enjoy every aspect of this song. It makes me happy when I hear it because of the faster upbeat. The beat and vibes are lovely to listen to.
Are You Listening Yet? 7/10
Favorite lyric – “ Now you’re all out of choices, are you listening yet? Between your head and heart and somewhere else instead”
I enjoyed this song. I like the beat and the sound of it. The lyrics are good, but not something I can deep dive into. I think this would be a great song to listen to live. It reminds me of “Ready, Steady, Go!” because of the beat and style. I feel like it is a very good fit for the album as it matches the vibes of some other songs.
Taste Back 8/10
Favorite lyric – “Did you get your taste back?, Or do you just need a little love?”
This is one of my favorite songs. The lyrics are very well written. I think every part about it matches the other songs. It reminds me of a classic Harry Styles song such as “Watermelon Sugar,”
The Waiting Game 8.5/10
Favorite Lyric – “You found, Someone to put your arms around, Playing the waiting game, But it all adds up to nothing”
I love this song so much. It reminds me of a classic song a teenage girl would listen to. The lyrics are so well thought out and it makes me appreciate it. I think this song has a lot of potential to grow as one of the most popular songs on the album.
Season 2 Weight Loss 6/10
Favorite Lyric – “It’s kind of sad but there’s something I know, Too many things for you to analyze”
This is not one of my favorite songs. I had a hard time getting into it, as it didn’t intrigue me as some other songs did. I do not think it is a bad song, but it is a song I do not reach for as much as I could not get into the lyrics.
Coming Up Roses 9/10
Favorite lyric – “Tell me your fears, I’ve turned back the clocks, it’s that time of year”
I really enjoy this song. I love the lyrics and background music.I feel like the background music encapsulates the message. I love the orchestra at the start of the song. I like the softer vibe of it. I think it will perform well live, and on streaming services.
Pop 6/10
Favorite lyric – “Catching stray dogs, Try but you can’t tame ’em”
I was not a big fan of this song. I had a hard time vibing with it. I think the lyrics were kind of hard for me to understand. It is not a bad song, but I do not listen to it a lot.
Dance No More 8.5/10
Favorite lyric – “‘DJs don’t dance no more’ , they said, (DJs don’t dance no more)”
I really enjoy listening to this song. It is my dad’s favorite on the album so it has been played a lot. I like how the lyrics are not too extensive. It gives great vibes.
Paint By Numbers 10/10
Favorite lyrics – “Oh, what a gift it is to be noticed, But it’s nothing to do with me”
I love this song so much. The lyrics and music are absolutely perfect. It is a great song and everyone should listen to it. I think it has potential to be an award winning song.
Carla’s Song 9.5/10
Favorite lyric – “There is a bridge that leads to troubled water, If you know, then you know,If you don’t, then you don’t, it’s heavenly, From your head to your toes”
I love this song. The lyrics are very meaningful and have a great flow. Each aspect of this song is beautiful. I do not think it is as popular as other songs, but it deserves to be. I enjoyed how the flow of the song matched what the lyrics were saying.
Overall, I enjoyed this whole album. I even bought the vinyl as soon as it came out. It was great.
