High hopes for high fives
September 29, 2018
After the Rachel’s Challenge assembly, the school started, ‘Friends of Rachel.’ The club has kicked off with the incorporation of exchanging high fives on the bridge.
The club assembled last Wednesday in the auditorium during first period to make posters in support of the school exchanging high fives on the bridge. When the club met they also began the chain of positive messages which are pieces of paper with messages written on them. The chain of links can be found outside of the open cafeteria.
For a day, students, teachers and other faculty members had exchanged high fives during the school day while making their way across the bridge.
“Being a part of Friends of Rachel allows me, the loud kid, the chance to make a difference,” senior Ashonte Davis said.

I enjoyed reading your story, knowing I did a story about Rachel’s challenge too.
