This is my first year with the Mountain Echo. I only recently discovered my enjoyment for writing, and I am excited to explore it further throughout the year. I love all kinds of music and playing video games. I am a member of the astronomy club and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Fun in spring. Junior Cider Ayala pets one of the many cats at Second Chance Strays Cat Rescue and Lounge. The cats are always available for adoption at the local business, but Ayala did not take one home.

A better view. Visitors of Fort Roberdeau view the eclipse through a simple lens that reflects on a wooden panel. There were many kinds of telescopes available for free use at the event.

Look to the stars. Freshman Abigail Ford views the April 8th solar eclipse through a high-powered telescope. She traveled several states to view the eclipse with her family in Altoona.

Trying something new. Junior Ava Cabell's painting of a ramen bowl was chosen for display. "I wanted to paint something unique with multiple layers," Cabell said. Her mother helped her complete the piece when she was struggling.

The show goes on. Senior Ava Rokosky takes notes during the drama club rehearsal. She is the student director for the Spring musical 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.'

A virtual world. Every ACA student has to complete a course named Digital Learning when they first transition taught by Daniel Harber. This class teaches students proper digital etiquette and important skills in a cyber world.

Classroom fun. Audrey Cromell holds a fun bracket where her students vote for the coolest job. Army sniper won in period 5 and Pro athlete won in period 6.

O Chemist's Tree. Over Irwin's 23 years of doing this assignment, she has taken many of her students' ornaments home with her. "Once I retire, one of the trees in my house is going to be like my own 'Chemist's Tree' of previous years," Irwin said. "I'll remember that and cherish that for the rest of my life."
