The planned 2021 prom will only be open to seniors. The class of 2021 did not experience a junior due to COVID 19 restrictions, so for many students, this prom will be their first and last.

As students prepare to return to school, questions about senior tradition have arisen. In an email to seniors, head principal Andrew Neely announced this year’s prom would only be open to seniors. The prom is in the planning stages and is still dependent on state laws and guidelines.

“During the planning process, a few things continued to come up in our conversations. Perhaps the most important topic that continuously came up was, ‘How do we still ensure the class of 2021 still has a chance to make memories?’ With that said, we want you to know that we are working hard to plan for a homecoming event and an end-of-the-year, senior-ONLY, prom/celebration,” Neely said.

The email also mentioned that the principals plan to have a graduation ceremony for the class of 2021.
