Attention Student Council: The Student Council meeting scheduled for this Thursday is
cancelled.

Attention Seniors: The Student Scholarship organization has released the January Scholarship
Newsletter. Please stop by the literature rack outside the guidance office to pick up this new
information.

Attention Male Seniors: Have you participated in Cross Country and/or Track and Field for 2
consecutive years and are looking for Scholarship opportunities? If so, you will want to stop by
the Guidance office to pick up an application for the Angelo Gioiosa Memorial Scholarship.
Fully completed applications need to be returned by March 17 th to either Mrs. Foreman,
Mr. D’Angelo or Mrs. Quinn.

Attention Female Seniors: Have you participated in Cross Country and/or Track and Field for 2

the Guidance office to pick up an application for the M. Gordon & Jane White Scholarship.
Fully completed applications need to be returned by March 17 th to either Mrs. Foreman or

Attention scholarship-seeking students: There are two new scholarship opportunities which
are available to you. Go online to the AASD website, look for the “AAHS Link” dropdown and
choose the Scholarship tab to apply for the 2023 Elementary School PTO Scholarship as well as
the AAHS 2023 Scholarship. Don’t delay because the February 13 th deadline is fast
approaching!

Attention Seniors searching for Scholarships: New to the literature rack outside of the
Guidance Office are the Big A Booster Scholarship and Kiera Chirdon Memorial Scholarship
applications. To be considered for the Big A Scholarship, applicant must be a member of a
varsity sport and a parent must be a current member of the Big A Booster Club. Any
applicants for the Kiera Chirdon Scholarship must be a cancer survivor OR an orchestra
student. Deadlines are fast approaching so don’t delay!

Attention Seniors: The Class of 1971 is awarding a $900 scholarship. To be eligible for this
award, the applicant should be a direct descendant (child, grandchild or great-grandchild) of a
1971 graduate, must plan on attending a local college (PSU, Mount Aloysius, Saint Francis or
Penn Highlands) and complete a short essay. Stop by the literature rack outside of the
guidance office to pick up an application. Deadline is March 3 rd .

Attention Seniors: Are you planning on becoming an educator after graduation? If so, you
will want to stop by the guidance office and pick up an application form for the Dawn Morden
Scholarship fund. Deadline is March 3 rd .

Anyone with information regarding Mickey Nedimyer’s whereabouts is asked to contact
Detective Wilson at the Altoona Police Department. Mickey has been missing for many weeks
and we are requesting any information that may lead to finding him.
