Freshman Sam Harpster looks for someone to catch her pass in their game against State College. Last year the girls’ basketball team suffered a loss in the state playoff game against State College.

On Sat. March 2 the girls’ basketball team will be taking on Erie McDowell in the PIAA 6A State playoff seeding game. The game will be held at Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. Varsity will play at 1:00 p.m.

This game is important because if we win we will get the home court advantage for the first round of the State Playoffs. That’s really big because then we won’t have to travel to Pittsburgh. There would be a better chance of us playing well on our own court that we play on everyday, so we really want to win,” junior Lanie Wilt said.

Tickets are $8 and must be bought ahead of time online and will not be available at the door. Tickets are available at 6A Girls Basketball Regional – Altoona vs. Erie High.
