Giving back. Easter for Eli is a non-profit fundraiser that goes to help families who are overcoming hard times in the hospitals. Students can donate during lunches this week to make these baskets.

Easter for Eli is a fundraiser that delivers Easter baskets to children in hospitals and Ronald McDonald houses. They also give $10,000 of gift cards for fuel to cover the cost of traveling for these families. To show support, Girl’s League is hosting a fundraiser starting today, Monday, March 4 and ending Monday, March 11. Students can bring in money, gift cards and basket fillers. They ask that no candy or perishable items are brought in.

“Last year we were able to give 25 Easter baskets to Easter for Eli,” Girl’s League adviser Megan Yingling said. “This year I hope to double that and give 50 Easter baskets.”

Students will be given a bracelet if they bring in a donation to the tables in the cafeteria during lunches.

Megan Shultz, Associate Editor
My name is Megan Shultz, and I am an associate editor on the Mt. Echo staff. Ever since I was young I would spend my free time writing stories for my family. Now, entering my senior year, I still get excited to show them my work. When I'm not reading or writing, I love to dance and hangout with my friends. Once I graduate, I hope to attend Mount Aloysius for their sonography program. Until then, I'm looking forward to my senior year and the awesome memories I will make.
