Announcements for 3/21/2024

ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THURSDAY, MARCH 21, 2024
Attention Juniors:  If you are interested in being a class officer next year, applications are still available outside Mrs. Dumm’s room, B120.  The deadline for submission is Thursday, March 28th.  No late applications will be accepted.
Attention FLC members:  There will be an FLC meeting today, March 21st in the planetarium from 2:50 to approximately 3:20pm.  We will be handing out field trip permission forms for our last few field trips of the year.  Hope to see you there!  Please email Mrs. Skomra if you have any questions or can’t make it to the meeting.
Students are reminded that parking is not permitted along 5th Avenue between 14th and 15th Streets.  Violators will be subjected to ticketing.
Attention students:  Our spring musical is quickly approaching! Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be performed on April 4, 5 and 6 at 7pm in the AAHS Auditorium.  One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors.  This irresistible show is full of catchy songs in a variety of styles, from disco to country-western to calypso.  Student and staff tickets are available now in the student store for $5 ($10 for adults).  Get them now and beat the lines the nights of the shows!
Attention all Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors:  Have you done any community service work in the past year?  Community Service performed for the school course doesn’t count.  If so, you could win $200 from The Challenge Program!  We don’t have many applications yet so don’t assume you have not done enough community service to win.  Applications for the Community Service awards are available outside the Guidance Office.  Applications are due by April 15th.
Attention Astronomy Club:  Our St. Francis field trip was one for the ages!
Let’s keep that science sizzle going as we ramp up for our two end-of-year
field trips. Our next meeting will be today, March 21st in the Planetarium from
2:50-3:20PM after school. You will receive permission slips for our solar eclipse field trip to Fort Roberdeau on the afternoon of Monday, April 8th.  Remember, don’t look at the Sun without certified eclipse filters. It will sizzle your eyeballs. Hope to see you there!
Attention Seniors:  If you are planning a future in any of the many aspects of Cosmetology, then you will want to stop by the literature rack outside of Guidance and pick up the Carol Jo Sicheneder Scholarship application, offered through the Salon Professional Academy, valued at $4,000.  The April 1st application deadline is fast approaching so do not wait!
