Spring Fling. Students who attend the Spring Fling will find entertainment in the forms of a DJ, dancing and backgrounds to take photos with. Students can spend the night socializing and dancing with friends.

On Thursday, April 11, Spring Fling will be held in the Field House. The dance will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. Attendees should note that there will be school on the following Friday. The dance is open to any sophomores or freshmen with less than five demerits who are not on academic probation and don’t have any unpaid fines.

Tickets will be sold April 9-11 during lunch and reporting room. Tickets can be bought in German teacher Sandra Mitchell’s room A221 and social studies teacher Makenzie Negri’s room B311. They will also be sold on the bridge during lunch, but will not be sold during all lunches each day.

“Whenever I ask kids after the dance, ‘Did you have a good time or didn’t you have a good time,’ the ones who say that they didn’t have a good time is because they don’t enjoy dancing,” Mitchell said. “That’s what it is, you hang out and you dance. I think if you open yourself up to move a little bit to the music, you’ll have a better time and you’ll just get swept up in the atmosphere of it.”

The dance is semi-formal. All outfits must adhere to the school’s dress code. The theme is spring, and the field house will be decorated in pastel colors and feature two backdrops for photos. Light refreshments will be offered.

Emmalee Martyak, Reporter
Hi! I'm Emmalee Martyak, a freshman reporter for the Mountain Echo. For as long as I can remember, I've loved writing. Last year, I joined the Livewire staff, and, after falling in love with reporting, decided to join the staff this year. Besides writing, I also love music. I'll listen to just about anything, but my favorite artists are Conan Gray, Taylor Swift, Hozier and the Waterparks. I also love all kinds of movies, and some favorites are "Mean Girls," "Edward Scissorhands" and just about any Adam Sandler movie. Some of my other hobbies are painting, baking and reading.
