Penn State. The PJAS science state competition is set to occur on the Penn State Main campus for the 2023-2024 school year.

Select Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) competitors are traveling to the state competition at Penn State University. The competition lasts from Sunday, May 19 to Tuesday, May 21. Students who earned first place at regionals qualified to move on to states.

“I’m excited, yet I’m also nervous for our students because I know they’ve been working so hard all year that I really want to see them succeed and do well,” club adviser Megan Kutruff said. “I’m excited to see how well they do and excited to see them succeed because I know that we have a lot of really great students going and that they work so hard on their projects.”

Melissa Krainer, Reporter
Ciao! My name is Melissa Krainer, and this is my second year reporting for the Mountain Echo. I’m very excited to be a part of the staff this year as a sophomore! I’ve always been passionate about writing, and I can’t wait to help report on school and community events this year. In my free time, you might find me crocheting, reading, playing the violin or working on math puzzles. I speak both English and German fluently. This is one of my favorite quotes: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” - Mahatma Gandhi
