Drama prepares to make a splash with ‘The Little Mermaid’ spring musical

The drama club’s spring musical performance of “The Little Mermaid” will take place on Thursday, April 3; Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5. The shows begin at 7 p.m. each day, with the senior citizen and family preview being held on Wednesday, April 2. Each performance features live music with a student pit orchestra.

Junior Camille Krug is playing Flounder in the upcoming performance.

“Rehearsals have been going really well, but it is a bit stressful because we only have a month left,” Krug said. “It’s particularly stressful for me because I am using a puppet, but [the puppets are] not finished yet, so I haven’t had the chance to work with it yet. Right now, I’m just using a piece of elastic with plastic eyes on it around my hand to represent my puppet. It’s kind of funny.”

I signed up for Intro to Pub not knowing what it was and it was the best decision I made. I’ve loved photography and writing for as long as I can remember. This will be my first year on Mountain Echo and Horseshoe Yearbook. Outside of classes, I partake in drama club and Black Student Union. When I’m not here in the school, I’m drawing or reading.
