Hole in one. Sophomore Sofia Hallinan practices her golfing skills.
On Thursday, Oct. 2, the girls’ golf team will compete in the District championship held at the Windber Country Club in Forest Hills. This will be their fifth year competing, with last year bringing them their lowest District score of 291 strokes.
“Our goal is basically to get a lower score than what we did last year,” girls’ golf coach Joel Gilbert said. “If we get below 291 we’re going to look at that as a pretty good accomplishment for this year.”
The girls’ golf team will leave the school around 6 a.m. and the championship will begin at 10 a.m.
