Homecoming pep rally to be held during eighth period

Music of the night. Boomerang DJ services plays the music for the 2023 Homecoming dance. Towards the end of the night, hits such as “Cotton Eyed Joe” were played.

The Homecoming pep rally will introduce this year’s Homecoming candidates during eighth period.

“This is the first homecoming pep rally since before covid happened,” Homecoming adviser Paige Matteson said. “This is my sixth year and I thought it would be cool to bring the pep rally back. We have a blurb about all of the candidates and a preview into games night. Teachers and committee members are going to be demonstrating some games that may or may not happen at games night. We’re also talking about the theme week next week, so I’ll talk about the dress up days and how you’re supposed to dress for homecoming week.”

It will be held in the field house at 1:50 p.m. The end of the pep rally will commence with the alma mater.

My name is Madison Aboud, and this is my fourth year on the Mountain Echo staff. I am honored to serve as Editor in Chief for the 2025 – 2026 school year. In 2023, I did an Editorial Leadership training through CSPA (Columbia Scholastic Press Association). In July 2024, I served as a National Youth Correspondent for the Washington Journalism and Media Conference (WJMC) at George Mason University. When I’m not focused on the Mountain Echo, you can find me reading, spending time with friends and family or hanging out with my dogs. After I graduate, I plan to major in English and minor in Communications. My goal this year is to represent our student body accurately and fairly.
