On Dec. 19, the advanced theater and studio theater classes will participate in the Winter Showcase to wrap up their semester by performing a drama called “Letters to Sala” by Arlene Hutton. Students are able to work on the show during class rather than having to work after school.
“This year, we’re doing a show called “Letters to Sala” by Arlene Hutton. It’s a show about the Holocaust, and it’s very unique in the way it’s written because it reflects from a young girl named Sala who was in a labor camp during World War Two, and then reflects back to her current life as an adult selling her letters from this era, so most of the show is written in letter form,” Samarra Wertz said.
Tickets for the show will be $5.00 and can be purchased through students in the advanced theater and studio theater classes. This drama will be performed for family and friends in the black box theater. The Winter showcase is an opportunity to have some early entertainment before the holidays.
