Student Council puts on 12 Days of Christmas theme days

Happy holidays. To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, Student Council is hosting theme days from Dec. 8 to Dec. 23.

Between Dec. 8 and Dec.23, Student Council and the Mountain Lion Maniacs will be hosting the 12 Days of Christmas dress down theme days. All money will go to the holiday baskets Student Council will be donating to high school students in need.

“It’s a great way to get the school into the Christmas spirit,” freshman Student Council member Abigail Burchfield said. “It is a way to bring people together before the holidays.”

Teachers paid a one-time $5 donation to be able to participate in all theme days.

My name is Madison Aboud, and this is my fourth year on the Mountain Echo staff. I am honored to serve as Editor in Chief for the 2025 – 2026 school year. In 2023, I did an Editorial Leadership training through CSPA (Columbia Scholastic Press Association). In July 2024, I served as a National Youth Correspondent for the Washington Journalism and Media Conference (WJMC) at George Mason University. When I’m not focused on the Mountain Echo, you can find me reading, spending time with friends and family or hanging out with my dogs. After I graduate, I plan to major in English and minor in Communications. My goal this year is to represent our student body accurately and fairly.
