The temperature’s rising, the flowers are blooming and spring is fast approaching. For our March Book of the Month, I will be recommending some books that are perfect for the spring season.
Windy City Series by Liz Tomforde:
I will be the first person to admit that I am not a sports fan. But I will also be the first person in line to read a sports romance novel. The Windy City series by Liz Tomforde is hands down the best sports romance series I have read to date.
In the dedication of the fifth and final novel, “Rewind It Back,” Tomforde sums the series up best: “Here’s to the 10 characters, 5 couples, 3 teams, 2 sets of siblings, and 1 amazing friend group that changed my life. This one is dedicated to you, the readers. Thank you for hanging out in Chicago with me.”
Over the course of five books, we follow 10 very different individuals who come together and create a unique and special bond. Although the series at its core is a romance, it is so much more, discussing a wide range of topics including mental health, social media’s negative influence, equality in the workplace and more.
Series order:
“Mile High”
“The Right Move”
“Caught Up”
“Play Along”
“Rewind it Back”
“My Husband’s Wife” by Alice Feeny:
I love many genres, but sometimes nothing beats a mystery/thriller novel. When I am craving a jaw-dropping twist, the first author who comes to mind is Alice Feeny.
“My Husband’s Wife” follows Eden Fox. From the outside, it seems Eden has it all together – perfect home, perfect husband, perfect life – until she returns from a run and another woman opens the door. A woman who looks like her, and a husband who doesn’t recognize her. The story goes from there.
I went into “My Husband’s Wife” knowing next to nothing, and it had me guessing until the very last sentence. Although the novel takes place in the fall, it has a coastal setting that makes it perfect for any time of the year.
