The physical education staff has organized a trip to Canoe Creek. This trip will take place for students to explore the community and take part in various recreational activities. The trip will be on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The date may vary due to weather. The rain date is Wednesday, Oct. 2.

“We changed physical education from team sports to lifetime activities and sports because that is what kids will do after high school. We added the Canoe Creek field trip because a lot of our student body has never used the resources at an outdoor state park. We feel as the phys ed staff that it is important to introduce this to them as an option for outside of school,” Health, Physical Education and Drivers’ Education Department Chairman Tom Palfey said.  “This is in line with our CHASE (Challenging the Hearts of Altoona Students to Exercise) 4 Wellness initiative.”

All students currently taking physical education this semester, if eligible, can receive a permission form from their physical education teacher.
