The new high school plans have been approved.  With renovations starting soon, there are still many mixed opinions from the local taxpayers and district workers.

“We definitely needed to do something,” English teacher Tina Johnston said. “I wish we would’ve looked at more options.  There are pros and cons.”

As for the budget, “It worries me because of the economy in this area,” Johnston said. (Johnston’s husband, Ron, is on the school board and voted against the project. -Ed.)

“I believe we definitely needed restoration,” social studies teacher Carolyn Kline said.  “I don’t believe that the current budget is too high, but I am concerned about staying at the budget.  This building is very old.”

“I think it’s exciting,” math teacher Emily Bender said.
