Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has announced that as of Friday, March 13, all Pennsylvania schools will be shut down for ten business days due to COVID-19 concerns.

Officials from the PA Department of Health strongly recommended exercising social distancing in order to mitigate the risk of exposure and spread of COVID-19.

All school building activities, including child care, preschool, athletic events, extracurricular activities, and other events are to be suspended.

“We understand this decision may cause hardship for some of our families; however, the decision was made as a proactive measure to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our students, families, staff and community,” Prijatelj said,

The school still plans to hold its March 14 SATs.
