A message was sent out to families of AASD to inform students and families that the Summer Food Service Program will be available for children 18 years or younger until December. The program includes five free breakfast and lunch meals for students who are not attending traditional school. Lunches will be dispensed weekly on Wednesdays, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m, at the Thirteenth street entrance of the Altoona Area High School.

“This program has been extended through December 2020. Children 18 years and younger are eligible for five (5) free breakfasts and lunches.  Students PreK – 5 attending traditional school will receive a free breakfast and lunch daily and are not eligible for the Wednesday pick-up,” Superintendent Dr. Charles Prijatelj stated in the email.

Availability varies, so be sure to pre-order lunches before 10 a.m each Friday using the number (814) 946-8270. A new link will be posted on the AASD webpage and the AASD Facebook page.
