The thing is that most people can’t afford health care, home care, vision care, dental care, prescription drugs, or ambulance services. In Canada the government sets and administers national standards for health care, helps fund health care, delivers health care services to specific groups and provides other health-related supports. About 26 million people in America don’t have access to or even have health care. The U.S. has the lowest performance in the world. Over the years we have spent so much on health care but the rates were not good like other places. People are having many health problems and many people can’t afford to have strokes, heart attacks and heart diseases and they are the most common causes of death in America. How we could have health care for more people is to extend more affordable care to more people and bring death rates down. How are we spending so much but our rates are really low? Access to care focuses on the affordability and availability of health services at the population level. The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Germany perform best on access overall, and both the Netherlands and Germany rank at or near the top on the two components of affordability and availability .
The U.K.’s health system is the top one for affordability. Most people that have to pay out of pocket spend so much money on health care and it just puts them in debt because they can’t afford spending hundreds of dollars when they get sick or need to see a doctor and they push it off and it gets worse for them because they could not afford it and that causes a higher death rate with sickness and untreated illnesses. About three in four adults say they are either very or somewhat worried about being able to afford unexpected medical bills (74%) or the cost of health care. Most adults put themselves in debt with medical bills. Studies show that about 16% to 28% of adults have medical debt and they can’t pay it off which puts them into a deeper hole.
By putting people so far down it is one of the likely causes of homelessness. If we spend more time looking more into it and helping the people and by putting those costs down our number of homelessness from overdue medical debt would go down in numbers instead of going up each year. This is why I think that we should have better health care that can help all people, not just the people that have money or jobs that can prove it for them. Thank you for putting the time in to reading this. Please take this into consideration.
