Mask up The district follows the orders of the Pa Department of Health ordering all students and teachers to wear face coverings while in the building. This mandate will go into effect on Sept. 7.

Destiny Montgomery, Editor in Chief

Starting on Sept. 7, all teachers, students and visitors of all school buildings will be required to wear a face covering. The district is following this order made by the acting Director of the Pennsylvania Department of Health on Aug. 31.

“Non compliant adults will not be permitted in AASD buildings,” Superintendent Charles Prijatelj wrote in a district email.

Non compliant students will be offered an allowable face covering to comply, but failure to comply will result in communication with a parent or guardian. Repeat violations will result in disciplinary action.

The district is still offering a cyber education option to all students.

“We know the community is deeply divided on this issue. Your cooperation in these tenuous times is greatly appreciated,” Prijatelj said.

All exceptions and allowable face coverings as outlined in section three of the order: here
