Student ambassadors help school
Adviser Patricia Sohmer sends the ambassadors emails to update them and give them any new information. Sohmer expects a reply from each student unless otherwise stated in the email.
October 26 is an in-service day, and while most students will be sleeping in, the student ambassadors will report at 8 a.m. The ambassadors will lead presenters and guide teachers to the correct rooms.
Throughout the year, the group also hosts sophomore orientation, leads tours for reunion groups, deals heavily with public relations and more. Patricia Sohmer is the adviser of the group and has been doing so for at least 15 years.
“They learn leadership and skills where they can learn to highlight positive areas of the school. They also act as role models for other students,” Sohmer said.
