Vocal Ensemble to perform with Horseshoe chorus in concert

Time to sing. The Vocal Ensemble poses for a picture before they sing for several schools at IUP.

On April 29, the Vocal Ensemble will perform a concert alongside the Horseshoe chorus.

“We’ve really just combined practicing for a variety of concerts and a variety of repertoire,” Vocal Ensemble teacher Kelly Sipes said. “The pieces that we are performing at the Saturday concert are acapella, so we build our acapella skills all year by singing solfège, sight singing and so on. We run sectionals where students work together on their parts, and we’ve also just done rehearsals in class to combine. We spend time listening and critiquing our performances.” 

The concert will begin at 2 p.m. for the public.
