Junior Danielle Bardelang thinks that baton can change who you are. Danielle is into her eleventh year of twirling, Bardelang has been twirling since she was two years old.

Bardelang can change who she is at a certain time but put a baton in her hand, and it will truly be who she is. Danielle enjoys twirling.

“I am not a huge talker, and I get very shy easily. So competing puts me out of my comfort zone,” Bardelang said.

Bardelang has tried every sport from basketball to dance, and she didn’t love any of them. Her mom suggested baton and she enjoyed doing it, so she stuck with it.

Bardelang is in many clubs. She is in the majorette squad, student ambassadors, newspaper, yearbook, student council, joining Et cetera magazine. Bardelang’s hobbies are art, writing, twirling.

Bardelang’s favorite club that she is in currently is majorettes. It is what has made her who she currently is. Other current clubs that she is in that are also one of her favorites are yearbook and news writing which she likes the same.

“I love the way I can express myself by twirling; it takes up most of my life,” Bardelang said.

Bardelang deals with her problems by writing in a journal and writes how she feels. Bardelang writes also about things that interest her. Bardelang also enjoys doing art because it is a way that she can express her feelings.

“If you give me a pencil I will write a story,” Bardelang said.

Bardelang hopes others learn to be who they truly are and she wants to show them how twirling can be something that is fun and entertaining.
