My name is Kihlee Noel, and I am a sophomore at AAHS. This is my first year on the publications staff. I enjoy playing sports for the school, such as, volleyball, basketball and track. I am also involved in executive committee and Friends of Rachel. Outside of school and sports, I enjoy hanging out with friends and listening to music.

Get ready. Starter for the girls' Basketball team, Kendall Cogan gets her foot taped by the trainer. Cogan has to prepare for practice so she is ready to represent Altoona in the State Playoff game.

Sophomore Roan Greaser goes for the fast break layup after stealing the ball on defense. Greaser was the high scorer of the game for the Mountain Lions with 14 points.

Boys’ Basketball Game Against Williamsport

Go! Seniors Joshua Corso and Cohen Crawford sprint down to the floor to get to the ball back after a turnover. This was at the beginning of the game right after the jump ball.

Be ready. Senior Joshua Corso and sophomore Dante Laracco line up in the key for a foul shot from the other team. This was a foul on senior Cohen Crawford, being his first of the game.

Get up. Senior Joshua Corso jumps to get the rebound as fast as he can, so they can score on offense.

Head up. Senior Issac Walker dribbles the ball down the court while looking for open teammates. The team got an open layup after making a play.

For three. Senior Cohen Crawford shoots a three point shot after receiving an open pass. Crawford ended up making the shot.

Get up. Junior MJ Harrington shoots a short jump shot after subbing into the game. This was his first game playing again after recovering from an ankle injury.

Warm up. The boys’ basketball team warms up after coming out of the locker room. Going into halftime the score was 55- 24 Williamsport.

Look up. Sophomore Joshua Lowery tried to get open to get the pass. Holding the ball, sophomore Dante Laracco looked to make a play.

And one. Sophomore Joshua Lowery goes in for the layup to score two points. This play led to a foul being called for a foul shot. Lowery made the shot making it a three point play.

Time out. Coach Doug Pfeffer calls a time out to come up with a play to score. Down by 6 the team had to make a bug play to tie with Williamsport.

D-up. Sophomore Roan Greaser plays aggressive defense to try and stop the other team from scoring. Greaser got a steal from the other team.

Junior MJ Harrington and sophomore Seth Simmendinger line up while the opposing team shoots foul shots. With 22 seconds left, down by 9 points, Altoona had to foul to try and get the ball. The team ended up losing 55-43 Williamsport.

Sophomore Zaelinh Nguyen-Moore jumps and grabs the rebound from the other team. This photo was from the girls D6 Championship game where they played Mifflin County in the 2022-2023 season. Altoona ended up winning 61-35.
